Mélisa Breiner-Sanders is an actor and producer based in Brooklyn, NY, Mélisa received her MFA in Acting from DePaul University and her BA from Georgetown University. As an actor, Mélisa most recently appeared in Law & Order: Organized Crime and has starred in over two dozen projects including feature films, short films, webseries, and sketches. Being Here released to 20K views in the first week and her viral sketch Interview with an Applicant has over 1.6M views on Youtube. Other credits include Off-Broadway: The Last Seder (Theatre Three), As Wide As I Can See (HERE Arts Center). Theatre: Birds of North America (Caitlyn), King Lear (Cornwall). Film/TV: Out and About, We're Breaking Up, My Secret Friend. Mélisa is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity. She is a SAG-AFTRA Strike Captain and was just elected as a SAG-AFTRA Convention Delegate.
A producer for over a decade, Mélisa has worked on award-winning features, shorts, webseries, and music videos that have screened at festivals across the country and internationally. She was a Consulting Producer on Cupids, which premiered at TriBeCa, screened at Cannes and can now be viewed on BET+ and recently shot Unsaid. Her first feature Seven Lovers is available on all digital streaming platforms and she is currently in post-production as a Producer on the indie feature Greetings From Arizona. Melisa was part of the Sundance Co//ab Producing cohort in 2020, advised by Karin Chien.

For most of my time as a filmmaker, I relied on close friends and acquaintances to get my projects shot. It was more a matter of convenience than practicality, but I made it work for me. My recent comedy webseries, CaucAsian, demanded something a little more structured and official than just a bunch of pals hangin’ around, havin’ a good time makin’ movies. When I approached Mélisa with the scripts for the series, she knew right away that an actual working crew was essential to getting my vision to the screen. She immediately took the reigns on the production, bringing on a seasoned crew, and leading our casting process. In no time we had gone from pre-production to principal photography. What we ended up with was an airtight schedule that not only proved effective in getting the shots we needed, it had the actors in and out of their respective scenes with enough time for me to do some improvising.
